Introduction
Control which asset your prospects see first by setting a custom starting point for your SalesHub™ experiences. This ensures your most impactful content leads the conversation and creates a strategic first impression.
Overview
By default, SalesHub™ experiences start with the first asset in your left-hand menu. The starting point feature lets you choose any asset to begin the experience, giving you control over the storytelling flow without reorganizing your entire collection.
You can set starting points for:
- Full Collection
- Custom Experiences
- My Collection/User Collections
Step-by-Step Instructions
Setting Starting Points in Full Collection
- Navigate to Presentation Mode in your Full Collection
- Locate the asset you want to use as your starting point
- Click the Set Starting Point button on that asset
- The button will change to Starting Point to confirm your selection
Setting Starting Points in Custom Experiences
- Go to the Customize step in your experience
- Find your preferred starting asset
- Click the Set Starting Point button
- Verify the button now displays the Starting Point
Visual Confirmation
Once set, you'll see non-clickable visual indicators in your left-hand menu showing:
- Category header marker
- Type header marker
- Asset name marker
Troubleshooting Common Issues
What happens if I delete my starting point asset? The starting point automatically reverts to the first available asset in your left-hand menu.
Can I remove the starting point entirely? No, every experience must have a starting point. To change it, simply select a different asset.
Will recipients see the starting point indicators? No, shared links and preview mode show a clean interface without any starting point buttons or visual markers.
Do different shared links have different starting points? No, there's one starting point per collection or experience. Changing it updates all previously shared URLs when refreshed.
Best Practices
- Choose your most visually compelling or strategically important asset as the starting point
- Update starting points regularly to reflect seasonal priorities or renovation progress
- Test shared links in preview mode to confirm the experience opens at your intended asset
- Consider your audience when selecting the starting point for trade shows, client meetings, or RFP responses
Next Steps
After setting your starting point, share your experience link with confidence knowing prospects will see your most impactful content first. Test the shared link to ensure it opens at your selected asset.
