Transform your spaces into show-stopping virtual experiences with proper preparation. Our expert photographers capture your property at its absolute best, and a little advance staging ensures every shot showcases the quality and professionalism your guests deserve.
Why Preparation Matters
Professional photoshoots move quickly, with each 360° photo taking roughly 10-15 minutes to capture. Having your spaces camera-ready when our photographer arrives maximizes your shoot time and delivers the stunning immersive content that accelerates bookings and elevates your brand.
General Preparation Guidelines
Make every space shine by following these essential preparation steps:
- Remove temporary items including rope barriers, signage, props, luggage, and food setups
- Light it up by ensuring all lights function properly (mood lighting is perfect when intentional)
- Create clean sight lines by opening all curtains and sheers fully
- Clear the area of guests and staff during capture
- Coordinate with your teams so engineering and housekeeping have spaces photo-ready, with keys available for room access
Room-by-Room Preparation
Lobby & Public Spaces
Your lobby sets the first impression. Make it count:
- Organize bars, tables, and common areas (straighten visible bottles and displays)
- Turn off televisions or display your property/brand logo
- Ensure wrinkle-free linens, pillows, and cushions on all seating
- Clean all tables, windows, and floors thoroughly
- Remove magazines, newspapers, and promotional materials from view
Guest Rooms
Showcase the comfort and quality guests will experience:
- Fluff and position pillows wrinkle-free and facing forward
- Turn off TVs and angle them slightly toward the camera (avoid glare)
- Remove wastebaskets from the shot
- Tidy surfaces and remove bottled water
- Hide cords and store hair dryers out of sight
- Keep coffee makers only if neatly displayed on shelves with hidden cords
- Use mood lighting when appropriate (avoid spaces too dark to recognize items)
Guest Bathrooms
Deliver that spa-like experience through the lens:
- Fold or roll towels with fresh, clean precision
- Shine everything including faucets, glass doors, and countertops (eliminate fingerprints, watermarks, smudges)
- Keep lights on (dimmed for inviting mood is fine, but avoid glare on mirrors and glass)
- Hide all cords and put away hair dryers
- Position shower curtain pulled ¼ of the way for visibility
- Keep toilet seats down
- Remove coffee makers and mugs from bathroom areas
Note: 3D cameras will appear in mirrors. Our editing team automatically blurs them. Full removal is available for an additional fee.
Meeting Spaces
Show off the versatility and professional quality of your event spaces:
- Block spaces in advance and confirm no stored items remain
- Align chairs to tables with precision
- Open all doors in walking paths between connected spaces
- Keep rooms empty and clean
- Relocate or turn off projectors when possible
Outdoor Areas & Windows
Your exterior spaces deserve the same attention to detail:
- Remove or hide vehicles, trash, graffiti, and maintenance equipment
- Organize and clean all outdoor furniture
- Open pool umbrellas and turn on water features and fireplaces where appropriate
- Consider sight lines from windows. What guests see through your windows matters.
Brand Standards Reminder
In addition to Visiting Media's preparation standards, always refer to your property's brand standards for any additional requirements specific to your brand guidelines.
