Room-Specific Preparation
Guest Rooms
- Straighten pillows and arrange bedding to appear crisp and inviting
- Turn off televisions and remove visible remote controls
- Remove wastebaskets, electronics, and in-room collateral materials
- Clean all surfaces and remove bottled waters
- Hide cords and store away hair dryers
- Tidy all surfaces in both room and bathroom areas
- Shine faucets, glass doors, and countertops to eliminate water spots
- Neatly fold towels, keep shower curtain visible and toilet seat down
Meeting Spaces
- Block space in your property management system ahead of time
- Ensure no stored items remain in the meeting space
- Align and arrange chairs to tables with consistent spacing
- Open all doors in the walking path for connected spaces
- Ensure meeting rooms are clean and empty (unless fully staged for a specific setup)
- When possible, relocate projectors or ensure they are switched off
Environmental Setup
Outdoor Areas and Views
- Remove or hide vehicles, trash, graffiti, and maintenance equipment
- Organize and clean outdoor furniture
- Open pool umbrellas and arrange seating areas attractively
- Turn on water features and fireplaces where appropriate
- Ensure clear sight lines from windows and outdoor vantage points
Health & Safety Considerations
- Hide distancing signage, decals, and posters
- Remove sanitizer stations and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) from shot areas
- Address any temporary health protocol items that could date your imagery
General Setup Requirements
- Avoid using props such as luggage or food setups
- Coordinate with engineering and housekeeping for photo-ready spaces
- Ensure your Point of Contact (POC) has keys ready for all necessary rooms
- Remove miscellaneous items including rope barriers, signage, and props
- Verify all lights function properly and provide adequate illumination
- Light fireplaces where applicable for warmth and ambiance
- Organize bars, tables, and common areas (straighten visible liquor & wine bottles)
- Open curtains and sheers to maximize natural light
- Ensure guests are not in the immediate vicinity during shooting

Pre-Shoot Planning
